The Eastern Montco
chapter of the Coalition for Peace Action is sponsoring an
Interfaith Service and Candlelight Vigil for
6:30 PM Wednesday evening, March 19th, to mark the 5th
anniversary of the Iraq war.
The service, taking place at the Ambler Church of the
Brethren, 351 East Butler Av, Ambler, PA 19002, (215) 646-1190 (1 block
from Bethlehem Pk)
starts at 6:30 pm with music, poetry and songs, as well as
reflections from area clergy.
The Interfaith Service, consisting of words
from
interfaith clergy, as well as instrumental music, poetry and song from
local
artists and musicians.
Participants include Mt. Airy poet Susan Windle; Elkins Park jazz
pianist Dave Posmontier; Elkins Park alto/soprano sax player and
clarinetist Ken Ulansey;
the Rev. Dan Schatz, musician, BuxMont UU church minister,local
singers.
Will mourn the loss of lives on all sides of
this
conflict and encourage those attending to work for peace.
The service will be followed by a
silent candlelight
vigil lining the street outside the church. Luminaria will be placed
along the
vigil path. This vigil will be a silent, reverential event, not an
occasion for
expressions of anger, but a time of reflection on this sad anniversary.
Ambler Church of the Brethren is located at 351
East
Butler Ave., at the intersection of Butler and Rosemont Avenues,
one
block from Bethlehem Pike.
